Art Gallery

Today Isabel spent over 2 hours outside chalking on the cement. Enjoy!

To start off with (left to right) she drew a house, an angel, a butterfly, and a tree with roots.

Loving me some “rainbow trout”!

At the park with trees and grass. The green bushes have berries she said.

Her funny bunny has such large ears because she traced her hands for the shape!

Laid out in her gallery artwork!

She was enjoying herself so much she didn’t want to really come in after she ran out of room. She told me if it rains, she can go out again and start all over!

Lower half: A house, an angel, a butterfly, a horse, a tree with roots, a rainbow, a rainbow trout, a bunny, a green spider (like the one she saw a Lowe’s), a bunch of purple grapes, a face, a plum, a bunch of green grapes, and a dragonfly!

An angel, a butterfly, a tree with roots, a horse, an apple, a flower, a sun, a tree, a park, a bee, a sunset, a rainbow, a bunny, a rainbow trout, a green spider (like the one she saw at Lowe’s), a face, and purple grapes!

I love it!

Camping Fireworks

I haven’t added any new art projects lately because the majority of the art that we’ve seen has been done from school. Isabel is still creating it, just not as much, as before. When she does sit down to draw or color I try to sit down with her to encourage her to do it.

This picture is of us camping together. The stars are overhead along with some brightly colored fireworks. I love the detail that she put into the camp fire and the sky.
Great job!

Chalk

Since today was no school, Isabel got out her chalkboard and worked with it all afternoon making different pictures. This one I thought was the best!

It’s a house with snails, butterflies, a bee, and birds in the sky.
A great way to spend your day when it’s cold and rainy outside.

Can you see her tooth hole???

If not…

Here’s a closer look! It’s very odd seeing her with a missing tooth.

Just Drawing

I got this idea off the internet about drawing and building confidence drawing with a pencil. No colors/crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paint. The picture could be as large as you wanted but had to be on the paper, front or back.

So Isabel and I sat down this afternoon and just drew. At first she didn’t want to draw without colors but after she “saw” the idea, she got on board.

We took turns picking an item to draw. We couldn’t see each others paper until after we were finished drawing. We drew 11 pictures and then looked at our drawings. Enjoy!

1. a cake (Isabel’s turn)
2. a rocket (my turn)
3. a cupcake (Isabel’s turn)
4. a whale (my turn)
5. cookies (Isabel’s turn)
6. a rollerskate (my turn)
7. a pizza (Isabel’s turn)
8. a flower (my turn)
9. a house (Isabel’s turn)
10. a Lego (my turn)
11. a ruler (Isabel’s turn)

Isabel’s cake took up one whole side of her paper. Great job!

The other side of her paper with the 10 other items.

My page with the 11 items I drew.

I loved seeing Isabel’s page after we were finished! Seeing the “coloring” that she did with just the use of her pencil. Great work! I will have to keep doing this at least once a week or so. Building confidence not only in her artwork but mine as well.

We Shall Have Cake

We stayed home from church today because Isabel was complaining of an earache. She was also coughing and her nose was running non stop. So I kept her in her pj’s and kept her from getting to excited.

She went off early in the morning and came back with a birthday cake for Daddy that she had made. She set up a table and chairs and even served up slices of her cake to me (Daddy had some later).

Her birthday party for Daddy.

The cake was made up of 2 slices of decorated paper, cut and taped together to form a layered (puffy) look. With the leftover paper, she made striped candles, which she then taped to the top of the cake. She glued yellow pom-poms to the candles to act as the flame and then sliced (cut) out pieces of her pie for us to eat.

The Rainbow

Today while I was working on a school scrapbook for Isabel. She was making a book for me. She wrote it, edited it, and bound it. Enjoy!

The title of her book is called “The Rainbow” by Isabel

Page 1: “Once upon a time there lived a little boy.”

Page 2: “The rain had stopped.”

(Please note that she ran out of room along the bottom…)
Page 3: “A Rainbow! A Rainbow! The boy shouted and that was the end.”

Proud of my little author! She did such a great job!
Thank you Isabel for my new favorite book.

New Outfit For Elefante

Today Isabel said she wanted to make her elephant, Elefante, a new outfit. So she got all the items together that she wanted to use and sat down all afternoon to work on her new outfit.

After a lot of cutting and taping, her work table was getting messy but she was having so much fun!

Elefante’s new clothes.
He has a scarf for his truck, a coat for his body and ear warmers with holes in them for earrings! Can you see the hole?

She also wanted a picture with Daisy sitting in the sun with Elefante’s new clothes.
