Kindergarten: Day 18

This morning Gino offered to take Isabel to school and I was thankful to get back in bed and sleep a bit more… at least for half hour.

Today is going to be a fun day. Later this afternoon we are heading to a play date with our friend Payton, her little sisters, and mom. We haven’t seen them since before our vacation in August and we are excited to see them!

Oh the Lord is good to me, and so I thank the Lord, for giving me the things I need, the sun, the rain, and the apple-seed, the Lord is good to me!

The class is still talking about Johnny Appleseed. Today’s morning activity was a picture find. Isabel loves doing these and she’s so good at them! She had to find: a saw, a toothbrush, a spoon, a kite (which she didn’t find until she got home), a clock, a feather, a cup, and a crown.

Front.

Back. This is Liam. Liam sits at Isabel’s table and was also in her Tumbling/Gymnastics class last year.

Ss” practice. The next several pages are line practice for the letter “Ss“.

Back: More “Ss” practice in the food truck. Isabel gets a little crazy and lazy when it comes to writing “Ss“.

More “Ss” practice at the beach.

Back: High-frequency word usage of “Aa“. The picture at the bottom is something that Isabel likes to play with “Aa” person.

Number and pattern sequences for math. Isabel needs to practice working on writing numbers, most of the time she writes them backward like she did above.

Back: Number 1 practice.

Since the forecast this week calls for gray skies and rain. Today the class played in the gym. Isabel said that Mrs. Boettcher had them play a game instead of doing what they wanted to do, which was run around and chase each other. They played charades, acting out different things from an airplane to different animals while running from one side of the gym to the other. Isabel said she didn’t like being a frog because it made her legs hurt.

Mrs. Kelso sang a song to the class about a lollipop tree. Toward the end of the song, lollipops fell from the sky and everyone got to have a sucker! Isabel thought this was very cool and her lollipop was root-beer.
Which she says is her favorite because it’s really good.

Isabel said she played with Taylor today, who likes to give Isabel hugs. Toward the end of class, Mrs. Boettcher sang the “Grandparents song” which made Isabel sleepy she said.

This week’s Bible verses:

“Dd” – “Depart from evil and do good.” Psalm 34:14

“Cc” – “Children obey your parents in the Lord,  for this is right.” Ephesians 6:1

“Bb” – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31

“Aa” – “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
