Kindergarten: Day 15

Today was our first field trip day! We went to the “Howdy Tour” at the fair. Now this isn’t to confused with “fair” day, that was on Monday, where the whole school got out early to attend the fair. Which I think is totally absurd!

We allowed Isabel back to school since her cough and runny nose had really died done since Monday and Tuesday. I was even able to chaperonage with another mom! Off to the fair…

Luckily for you, I was able to get a few photos before BOTH batteries died early on the tour…

The whole class was able to attend the “Howdy Tour”.
Can you find Isabel?

After meeting up with our tour guide we got to see 2 different batches of baby pigs that were 10 days apart. So cute and what a difference 10 days makes!

We headed into the cow barn but we didn’t get to see any actual real cows because they were moving things around for the sheep and pigs to arrive later in the day. But we learned about butter making and milking cows. We even got to see Mabel…

Learning how to milk Mabel (not a real cow).

Trying her “hand” at milking.

This is a 2 hand job!

We explored different areas of the fair and got to see lots of different animals from pigs, turkeys, camels, rabbits, ducks, llamas, zebra, goats, sheep, Watusi, emus, draft horses (huge), show dogs, bees, horses, chickens, and even a ZEDONK!

Agriculture displays of corn, grapes, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, apples, honey, cucumbers, onions, cabbage, beets, zucchini, carrots, squash, wheat, and a 900+ lb. pumpkin!

We saw collections from peoples personal collections of items from Star Wars, Piglet, My Little Pony (was the largest), Twilight, Muppets, Coca-Cola, wooden toys, spoons, bells, and other items.

It was a great tour, lasting 2 hours, glad it was different then last years tour. Isabel was disappointed she couldn’t get any cotton candy and others wanted to ride some of the rides. Or at least eat, we were so hungry by the time to head back to school.
