So begins the day…

And then the pavers!

All the while, Isabel and Daisy ran around outside…getting smelly and dirty! With everyone outside, I took the opportunity to mop the pantry, kitchen, and dining room floors. In between drying times, I would run out and see the progress and take a few photos.

It’s looking good…
I’m heading into the house to give a very dirty girl a much needed bath!

This is how I found her…
she had been drinking chocolate milk and was running around with a milk gotee!
Got to love this dirty smelly girl! :o)

Paver Pathway Corner

It’s the beginning of the completion of the paver pathway that Gino started last year.

With a bit of leveling and crushed rock; the following day…

Gino begins the foundation of the the pathway. This corner will be a bit of a step up from the pathway that was laid out last year but will be level with the new patio.

After much planning, he decides that he’ll pack the “holes” with crushed rock, concrete, and a topping of sand; it’s getting late…more to come…

Patio Project – part 4

This has been a long time coming, I last updated about our patio project on the 24th of April! We have had several rainy days to keep the crew away to finish up the work that needed to be done. Fortunately, the sun came back out again yesterday for the guys to finish up the work. Tell us what ya think….

The completed patio.

Now it’s onto finishing the paver pathway from last year, bringing in some top soil, and then some grass!

Patio Project – part 3

So today the guy’s came out this morning, bright and early, and poured the new 10 foot by 10 foot concrete pad before the weekend. On Monday, they will be back to finish up the last of the work. Enjoy!

Looking south, existing pad side.

Looking north, new pad side.

Both pads with 2 inch boarder in between equal a total patio area of 26 feet by 12 feet.

Isabel was enjoying herself out here! I think she’s found a new place to play…now only if the weather would warm up to use it!

Patio Project – part 2

Well, after a few days of rain and the weekend, the men came back to haul, pour, and smooth out concrete for the 2 foot boarder.

Isabel enjoyed watching the men work and had lots of questions as to what they were doing. Daisy on the other hand has been a little annoyed with the whole project; she just wants “her” yard back!

We went with a “stamped” colored boarder. This is just the first step in the process…looks cool!

Patio project – part 1

This week we had different contractors come out and do bids on our patio extension. Since the existing patio is to small, only 10 feet by 10 feet. After much consideration, we decided on a contractor and the work began the following day!

The men came out and had to dig down a bit to get the frame ready for concrete.

…the following 2 days it rained and the work stopped.
