Fun With Friends

This morning we met up with some friends at the park and had a great time!

The kids got hungry in a hurry and had lunch together.
More laughing and goofing around than eating.

Fun times!

The older girls had gotten fallen branches from the trees and decided to make head-dresses or something. Isabel’s kept falling down in her face.

After lunch the girls made a “nest” in the trees.

They are here and there and everywhere!

Lego Class: Battle Cars

With today being Isabel first ever Lego class, she is just learning how things work. The other students in the class took the class during the previous quarter, so they have more knowledge of how to build things. Which didn’t seem to mind Isabel, she asked lots of questions!

Her completed battle wall.

The wall was built so the kids could see if their car could knock it down. However, I didn’t see any of them ramming their walls. I saw them ramming each other! Which is more fun.

Her completed battle car.
A little later she added to it.

The girls were going to battle but Isabel was having motor issues and had to replace her motor 3 times in order to get her car working.

They battled again but there wasn’t a winner, they were just having fun smashing into each other.

Kids Clinic: Kite Building

This morning we headed to the local hardware store for a kids clinic that was being offered for free.

This gentlemen is from the Official Northwest Kite Club or Association (he does kite flying at Long Beach at the Kite festival that we went to several years ago – he’s been doing it for over 20 years!) and he was there to help with the string and making sure the kite was balanced.

All finished.

Matt Maher.
He came out to the center stage in the middle of the arena and played some wild piano!

Only photo I got of Crowder and band.
We enjoy us some Crowder!

Our favorite song!

If you listen closely, Isabel can be heard screaming along!

MercyMe closed out the concert with some fabulous singing!
These guys are just awesome.

Memorial Trail

Today just after lunch we headed to one of the area local parks to walk the N.Chapman Memorial Trial. This nice trial is paved all the way and is about 2.5 miles of walking, biking, rollerblading and scooter fun! We weren’t the only people (lots of dogs too!) on the trial, which made for some tricky spots but still a very nice scenic walk.

I really enjoyed it and might have to walk it again in the future!

On the trail of the Nathan Chapman Memorial Trial.
Gorgeous day to get out and walk.

Primper

While I was waiting for Isabel in her homeschool science class this afternoon, this little bird paid me a visit. He kept me entertained along with dragonflies, hummingbirds, little green insects and other small birds like the one in the video.

Please be aware there is no sound, the noises you hear are me moving in the car and they can get loud, as I move around. I didn’t realize I was being that loud. Enjoy!

I was able to capture this little bird several times.
I actually don’t know if the bird or birds that I saw were 1 bird or more than 1.

First Sleepover – Part 1

Since Isabel’s friend Ms. M had gymnastics class, we picked her up afterward and than took the girls out for dinner and yogurt afterward.

Mini pizza’s at Mod Pizza.
One ordered cheese, the other pepperoni and then they shared half of their pie with the other.

Yummy yogurt for these 2 sweet girls and great friends!

After arriving home we let the girls stay up until 9:30 and than it was lights out and in bed.
They spent the time in Isabel’s room playing with Isabel’s new remote controlled jeep from Grandpa.

However… the girls had other ideas! They were up until 1 a.m. (giggling and telling secrets) and than were up at 6 a.m. for the new day to begin! Great fun and awesome memories for Isabel and her first sleepover!

Library Tuesdays

Tuesdays are turning into Library days at our house. After piano lessons we head to the local library to get our fill of books!

This week, our selections included:

2015-02-18 010_edited-1

“The New American’s” by Betsy M.
The words are beautifully captured  in the gorgeous illustrations!

2015-02-18 011_edited-1

“Benjamin West and His Cat Grimalkin” by M. Henry
Isabel and I both loved this biography of the American Quaker Painter boy and his cat!
(We enjoyed looking up his art online. Isabel was impressed by what he could do)

2015-02-18 012_edited-1

“The Adventures of Myles Standish and the Amazing-But-True Survival Story of Plymouth Colony” by C. Harness.

Isabel wasn’t into this book at all. I did read it but didn’t really enjoy it either, it was dark but those times in history were dark. Prejudiced, Pride and Persecution have followed mankind throughout history and we never seem to learn from it. Having said all that, I will give the author another chance, she has another book about the westward expansion, so we’ll see how that one reads.

Happy reading!
