New Life Egg Hunt

Usually Daddy is the one to hide the eggs around the house but this year it was me!

I asked her if she wanted to do the hunt outside (since it wasn’t raining – first time ever!) and she asked me “why?”. She didn’t know that outside is where you normally have an egg hunt. So we did it inside.

I hid the eggs in the family and dining room, kitchen and classroom. While Isabel hid out in her room.

The first one she found was in by the coffee/tea maker.

Easy one to find.

This one required her to s-t-r-e-t-c-h!

With Mickey in the classroom.
(Daddy hid one here too later)

Mickey was hiding this one too.

In with the pencils for class.

This one took her some time to find and it fit so perfectly in it’s hiding place.

I think I did rather well. She had to get 3 clues in order to get her last egg found.

This last egg and her 3 clues:

  • it’s by something yellow
  • it’s up high and
  • you will need a ladder to get to it

Even after all those clues she still had a hard time finding this one walked by it so many times I lost count!

We had a great time hunting for our new life eggs!

She wanted Daddy to hide the eggs and she hunt for them again one more time. His eggs were easy to find but one of them was a bit out of reach!

Daddy!

Pine Siskin

We think this little bird has been hanging out around our house for several weeks now getting food out of the feeder.

Since I took the feeder in the other day, Isabel wanted to feed the birds and our little bird friend.

The bird was in our Japanese maple and Isabel was able to get it to hop onto her bowl of bird food.
She’s so proud of herself.

The bird ate for a long time at the bowl.
As the little bird is eating, Isabel is singing softly to it.

Isabel walked the bowl and bird over to the patio table.

A Pine Siskin is a member of the Finch family.
Isabel told us later that the bird flew away just after I went out to take photos of it. She tried again later to get the bird to come back to the bowl but it wouldn’t.

My Girl

My Valentine evening was spent with this goofy girl.

Silly faces.

She’s laughing so hard! Let’s just get 1 nice one…

A bit fuzzy with the low light in the room but it’s still a good picture.

Happy Valentines Day!

First Sleepover – Part 1

Since Isabel’s friend Ms. M had gymnastics class, we picked her up afterward and than took the girls out for dinner and yogurt afterward.

Mini pizza’s at Mod Pizza.
One ordered cheese, the other pepperoni and then they shared half of their pie with the other.

Yummy yogurt for these 2 sweet girls and great friends!

After arriving home we let the girls stay up until 9:30 and than it was lights out and in bed.
They spent the time in Isabel’s room playing with Isabel’s new remote controlled jeep from Grandpa.

However… the girls had other ideas! They were up until 1 a.m. (giggling and telling secrets) and than were up at 6 a.m. for the new day to begin! Great fun and awesome memories for Isabel and her first sleepover!

New Credenza – Part 2

We haven’t been able to work on the new credenza but tonight we were able to. We stripped the drawer fronts and got the credenza top stripped as well.

Drawers waiting to be stripped.

2 of the 9 drawers to be stripped.

The stripper works well for getting the rolled paint off but getting the old stain underneath is going to take some work. Gino has purchased what he will need, so hopefully on a good weather weekend we can really get to work on this project. I’m still super excited about seeing this completed and have it’s new home ready for when it’s complete.

3 drawers Gino stripped last night but I didn’t get photos.

The inside beams (where the drawer sits) were spray painted while the whole outside was painted with a roller.
