Helping Out
Today our friends Steve and Cooper came over for some help.
Cooper is entering a pinewood derby race next weekend with his AWANA group and they wanted some help getting Cooper’s car ready for the race. We’d be glad to help!
We purchased Isabel a monster truck so she could have something to build along with Cooper. Enjoy!

Cooper had sanding to do on his car and Isabel just had to assembly her truck.

After getting their cars sanded and assembled it was time for paint…
Isabel’s monster truck came with stickers but she wanted to add some flames!

Since Cooper was only here for today to get his car ready for next weekend…
His car sat in the drying bay (space heater).
Cooper painted his car after his favorite game “Mindcraft”.

While the kids had time to wait, they went out in the driveway
to fly their stunt planes Gino bought for them.
First Grade: No School
No school today due to teacher in-service.
(Preschool was open, so I still had to work.)
First Grade: Day 133
Today is Thankful Thursday and it’s P.E. with Mrs. S. Today’s P.E. class was cancelled due to class pictures being taken in the gym. P.E. class will return in 3 weeks.
Not much was said today about what was done in class I think she’s just excited about spring break, as I am.
Got 100% on her Bible verse test.
She then colored the paper to add some flare!
Learning about customs during meal time.

First Grade: Day 132
Today is Wonderful Wednesday!
It’s music class with Mr. G and computer lab with Mrs. T.
Music class was cut short due to a performance in the Sanctuary by the Drama Club. They did an adaptation of “Charlotte’s Web“. I heard the play was very good and Isabel said she really enjoyed it too. I wanted to go but I was working.
In computer lab they did 4 AR tests, just after lunch recess.
Today was class pictures for Isabel. Tomorrow is staff group picture and also class pictures with my Preschool 3’s.
Classwork…
Front: write the word that completes the sentences.
Back: working with “igh” sound.
Front: circle the verb.
Back: circle and write the verb.
The science project this week was “Mirror Magic” and talking about reflection and refraction light.
Learning about light properties.
Changing light. What is a reflection. What is refraction.
During class, they did this experiment together yesterday.
First Grade: Day 131
Today is Terrific Tuesday and it’s Chapel and library.
Today’s Chapel was given by Principle Mrs. B. Isabel said she talked about finding your talents. There was also “special guests“, who spoke during Chapel as well.
Our campus also had a visit from our schools high school kids. They came to campus to read with the kids, just hang out and help wherever there was a need. They helped out in Isabel’s (my class too) class and were even around for Chapel. It was great having them around. They will be visiting our campus on again on Thursday as well.
Otherwise nothing else was said about her day.
A lot of work was completed today because tomorrow is going to be a very busy day.
Classwork…
“Knuffle Bunny” was the story read today during library with Mrs. R.

Math work: fill in the missing numbers.

First Grade: Day 130
It’s Marvelous Monday!
Which means All-School Open. The Monday morning assembly for announcements and other fun stuff for the week.
This week is another short week with Friday being a “no school” day for Isabel (I will still be working). Wednesday is a special assembly with the Drama Club’s performance of “Charlotte’s Web“.
Wednesday is class picture day for Isabel and Thursday is staff and class picture day for me.
Next week is Spring Break for both of us. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we’ll be able to get outside and have some fun.
This week I am working again all week. I am helping out with the Preschool 4’s class with Mrs. Thompson. The P4’s has both an a.m. class and a p.m. class. The a.m. class has 18 students and the p.m. class has 17 students.
Classwork…
Isabel said they did a science experiment today and they will finish it up tomorrow. She couldn’t remember what it was so I’ll find out tomorrow what it is they did when she brings home the paperwork.
