School News: Field Trip Part 2

Our tour continued outside of the barn with the kids getting to feed the goats out of their hands.

Olivia, Isabel and Ezzra feeding a smaller goat. The larger goats were in the pen behind them.

After our tour of the barn, we headed back down by the ponds to see if we could spot some wildlife. Some of the kids got to see a big frog before it jumped into the pond. We had hoped to see the bald eagles nesting in the trees just behind the ponds but they didn’t come out today.

Looking back toward the barns and larger pond and island where the kids got to fish.

We eventually made it into the musical forest to make some NOISE!

Each of the kids were given a drumstick and were told to just go have fun. This was Isabel’s favorite part of the day!

The forest was made up of recycled pots, pans, lids, plastic pipes, bells, strainers, cookie tins, and anything else that sounded cool when you give it a whack!

Rebecca and Isabel banging on some lids.
(The kids were moving so fast it was hard to get any good shots.)

After our musical jam was over, we were told we could explore the farm on our own. There was the Eye Spy trail (warned it was very muddy!), farm animals (to see again), play area, and adventure boat.

On the way back up to the play area, Isabel and Gino took a walk (or a skip) along some old tree stumps.

Mrs. W and Mrs. Standfield climbed aboard to get a great class shot!

Giving that water pump a good pumping to get those Duckies down the slide.

I think all the kids had a great time at U-Fish, I know I did!

That night Isabel had her fish grilled with corn on the cob. She said it was yummy!
