Happy Resurrection Sunday

It’s Resurrection Sunday and unfortunately it’s raining outside. Isabel will have to wear a sweater again this year with her new Easter dress (so glad that I purchased one). Enjoy!

Before heading out to church this morning, I took a few quick shots of Isabel with her Easter basket. Nothing overwhelming; just a bit of candy and a few little toys. We didn’t want to take the focus off the real reason for the holiday! Now it’s off to church…

After we got back home from church and eating out for lunch. I realized that Isabel had the same message we, adults had in church. Both messages were about “transformation” or “God’s butterfly stories” and how the power of Jesus can transform our lives. Awesome!

And we…are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)

“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives, Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” Galatians 5:16 (NLT)

New life in colored eggs

Today we gathered around the dining room table and together we decorated eggs for Resurrection Sunday. Isabel’s first year to participate and she did great and had lots of fun making new life colored eggs. Enjoy!

A warm orange bath.

Six colors:
Green, blue, purple, orange, red, green and yellow.

Without eggs we would not have life; without Jesus we would not have new life!
Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Nothing fancy…Dad did the 2-tone ones.

After our new life eggs were colored we did a little dye painting!
How cool is that!

Let’s cut paper

Today, Isabel and I worked on how to use scissors properly, so first some ground rules…

1. Don’t point scissors at anyone (ever).
2. Keep scissors closed until you are using them to cut paper. Very sharp.
3. Only cut paper. Watch for fingers, clothes, hair, etc.
4. Have fun!

Beginner cuts…so focused on her work.

More beginner work…to get the “feel” of handling scissors.

This task was to do a continuous cut across the whole paper.

Three beginner tasks: Woof! Meow! Growl!
Open and closing the scissors (one stroke).

Cutting a continuous line; a bit rough.

Vroom! Vroom! Beep! Beep!

Same task as the car; continuous open and closing across the page, much smoother.

Splish! Splash!

Its A Fort

Last week I built a fort for Isabel out of 2 chairs and 2 TV tables. Since it’s construction, she’s been “living” in it every day! So I thought I would post some photos of it…

Her own little hide out!
We’ve even caught Daisy in there a few times!

She likes it! She likes it!

Some outdoor activities

Around here we have been patiently waiting for spring to “feel” like it’s actually here and today was the first day! So we headed outside to do some fun activities out-of-doors! Enjoy!

Silly girl helping Daddy wash the truck.

Getting all the nooks and crannies!

Onto finger painting…

Paint plate looks cool.

We each did a hand print…or two…or three…

Planting seeds

This morning we gathered around the dining table and did a little seed planting. Isabel planted her own flower garden with a Vinca mix and Teddy Bear Sunflowers. While Gino planted veggies; green peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno’s and sweet pea’s. Enjoy!

Setting the seeds out…so tiny you almost miss them!

Damp fingers make for easier seed pick up!

Pushing tiny seeds into the dirt.

Three days later Isabel had little shoots pushing up;
with only the teddy bear sunflowers showing!
This picture however is from day four.

Conversation With Isabel

Today we were working in the den when Isabel walked in and Gino said…

Gino: I love you.
Isabel: I love Mommy.
Gino: Who loves me?
Isabel: Daisy…

A few nights ago, we were talking to Isabel about her big brown eyes and how we have had several people comment on how lovely they are. The next morning at breakfast the conversation went like this…

Isabel: My eyes are little.
Me: Your eyes are little? Why is that?
Isabel: Because my big ones are at home…
