First Grade: Day 107

It’s Marvelous Monday! Which means All-School Open too.

Today was NOT a good day for Isabel. I won’t go into detail but her behavior was so unlike her that Teacher Mrs. B and us were shocked by it. Hopefully her punishment will help her to remember to think before doing it again, so there won’t be a next time.

Therefore we did not get any information about the rest of her day and how it went. Hopefully tomorrow is a lot better for all of us.

First Grade: Day 106 – Half Day

Today is Fantastic Friday and it’s only a half day!

It was a rainy soaked Friday at school so the kids had to have recess in the gym.

She took a spelling test too and she thinks she got 100% on it. Way to go!

First Grade: Day 105

Today is Thankful Thursday and it’s P.E. with Mrs. S and computer lab with Mrs. T.

Today for P.E. they played pac-man and 4 corners. Isabel said they got to rowdy so Mrs. S stopped all the crazy fun and had them listen to a story. Hopefully that got the crazy fun calmed down!

In computer lab they took a test on their classroom story for the week., “Around the World“.

The class finished up part 2 of this weeks science lesson called “Newton’s Third” and it’s about Newton’s third law of motion!

First Grade: Day 104

Today is Wonderful Wednesday and it’s music class with Mr. G and computer lab with Mrs. T.

During computer lab with Mrs. T. Isabel said she took 3 AR tests today. She mentioned they went to music class but didn’t mention what they did.

Today was also part 1 of this weeks science lesson called “Newton’s Third” and it’s about Newton’s third law of motion!

Today they talked about birds flying, fish swimming, and cars moving. When objects push or pull, another object reacts with equal force in the opposite direction!

First Grade: Day 103

Today is Terrific Tuesday with Chapel and library.
(we almost forgot her library book this morning as we headed out the door – being off yesterday throw us off a bit!)

Today is the first day back after a long 3 day weekend! We stayed close to home and worked on her Bible verse for this week. She’s struggling a bit with Deuteronomy but I’ll think she’ll get it by Friday.

This week’s Bible verse is…

“It is the Lord your God you must follow, and Him you must revere.” Deuteronomy 13:4a

We’ll continue to work on it during the week after school along with her other homework.

I asked Isabel if she could have one animal on this page which one would she choose. She said, “A hamster.”  She also said she wouldn’t want a pig because they smell. I told her that you could have a pig in your house and it’s actually quite clean. It’s called a pot-belly pig. I wouldn’t want one but they are cleaner then your average pig.

First Grade: Day 102 – Spirit Friday

Today is Fantastic Friday and it’s music class with Mr. G and it’s also “Spirit Friday“.

Isabel couldn’t remember what they did in music class this morning. However Mr. G did come to MY class today and he taught us the “wiggle” song that she was singing the other day. My class loved the song though! I’ll have to find out the words to this great action song!

First Grade: Day 101 – Valentines Day

Today is Thankful Thursday and it’s P.E. with Mrs. S and computer lab with Mrs. T. Computer lab was cancelled because of the class Valentine’s party this afternoon.

During P.E. Isabel said they played basketball. She is trying to learn how to make a basket but keeps missing with practice though she’ll get it. While She was practicing today she sprained her pinky finger. It’s NOT BROKEN! Just very sore and black and blue. We are keeping an eye on it.

The Valentine’s party was on everyone’s mind all day! They decorated cookies and had juice boxes. They handed out their own Valentines cards and played a game or two as well. Isabel had a lot of fun and was wearing most of her cookie on her face when I picked her up!

All the girls (missing 2) wanted a picture. (one of the boys slipped in and a sibling too!)

She ended up with not a whole lot of candy (which I am so thankful for). She got lots of suckers and a bag of microwave gourmet popcorn! Other items she got were pencils, small notepads, and bubbles. Fun stuff!!
