Back At Home

We are back home after our Thanksgiving vacation to Utah. We arrived on Tuesday evening, December 2nd, around 7 p.m.

We had a fantastic time seeing family, being in warmer temperatures and relaxing. Always good for the soul to see all those you love the most.

I will be posting photos and blogging from the trip over the next week. I hope to have it finished by then. Bare with me as I try to get back in the groove of things.

Ride Home – Part 2 – Thanksgiving 2014

After leaving Boise this morning with rain, our trip has been very pleasant with no weather delays or road conditions. We expect to be home around 7 p.m. unless there is something along the road ahead.

In Oregon along Interstate 84.
The dusting of snow was really pretty to see.

Hi from the road near La Grande in Oregon.

Waiting for some lunch with friends.
She spent the whole day playing her game and didn’t need to recharge the batteries until we were in Washington.

After our stop in La Grande for some much needed lunch we were back on the road in no time.

Heading up Cabbage Hill, or Dead Man’s Pass, just outside of La Grande, we hit some fog.

At the top of the Pass it was clear skies and gorgeous.

Beginning our descent, we head back into the fog but the fog on this side of the mountain is thicker.
Visibility is only 500 feet .

During our switch-back ride down, Gino kept this semi-truck trailer in front of us.
The black door was a great visual to keeping us on the road.

Along Interstate 90 just west of Ellensburg, the sun is set and we are almost home.

Isabel with Nana and Pompo’s dog “Choco”. She’s really going to miss this little guy (I think he will too!).
These two were the fastest of friends and he listened to everything she told him to do!

Leaving the Utah area, we depart with clear blue skies.
Sure am going to miss family, the temperature, and the sun!

Around noon we arrive into the SLC area valley and look at that smog! YUCK!

We arrive in Boise for the night and it’s cloudy and raining/snowing, which turns to freezing rain by morning. However by the time we hit the road in the morning, it’s already begun to melt and the roads are wet.

Looking out our hotel room window.

Inside our hotel room. We have a small kitchen, a huge bathroom, a fireplace and a hide-away bed for the girls.

It’s a nice hotel. Close to the freeway and restaurants, if you decide not to eat at the cafe in the basement.

Daisy was starting to annoyed with the picture taking.

Isabel on the other hand, was out, sleeping peacefully.
She thought the hide-away bed was so comfy and cool!

Daniel And Family

After our time at the Santa Workshop, we headed to my brother, Daniel’s house for dinner. We had a great time visiting and being entertained by the dogs and an impromptu piano duet. So fun!

Wish we could have spent more time with them… we missed seeing our niece Kaylie, she was out of town with her boyfriend.

Great times and cousin bonding!

Left to right: Daniel (brother), Marci (sister-in-law), Bryson (nephew) and his girlfriend, Crystal.
Good looking family right there. Love them and miss them!

Santa’s Workshop

This morning we spent with Nana and Pompo at the Santa’s Workshop at the Dixie Center.

We walked around for a few hours looking at booths and enjoying our time together. We purchased a Christmas ornament, some coated nuts and an ornament tree. Isabel, Nana and Pompo purchased a few things as well.

Isabel got a ticket to ride the train.

Back from her ride on the train that lasted about 8 to 10 minutes.
She had a fun time.

Who Do You See?

This morning was all about the Nebraska (vs. Iowa with a 37 to 34 win) game on T.V. and we spent our time at my parents house with my brother, Jerry, my nephew, Brenden and my niece Bryndee watching the game.

Isabel and Bryndee had great cousin time making jewelry and bracelets together. I wish I would have taken some photos but I was to caught up in the game to think about that!

Later in the evening…

We stopped the by local furniture store to catch up with Nana and Pompo tonight and who did we see?

Olaf!

It’s Sven!

Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Sven were making an appearance at the store the next day. We just happened to see them before the crowds!
