Blue Bird

Tonight while Isabel was getting ready for bed and I was putting laundry away in her room. She told me she had a surprise for me…

I was thinking it was something made from paper since she makes so many things from paper. But I was wrong, it’s not paper.

She said at first she thought about using pink but decided against it because I don’t like pink. So she used blue instead.

I love it!

My baby blue bird from Isabel.
It’s new home will be my desk.

The little bird is so cute.
Isabel told me she worked really hard at trying to get the bird just so.

Birthday Gift

Isabel’s birthday gift arrived today; on a commercial flight from Vegas!

Nana and Pompo have arrived to celebrate her birthday next week!

We didn’t mention anything to her about them coming and today when Daddy got home from picking them up at the airport. She was literally speechless!

She’s been all smiles all evening and is trying to cram all her excitement into one evening! If she wakes in the morning, it will only be a dream. So overwhelming but what a wonderful surprise!

Desk Top

Well, my desk top computer hard drive is on the fritz again!

It started making noises the other day and Gino looked at, searched for a solution on the web and thought he had it repaired. Last night though before going to bed he told me he had to turn it off. For fear of it not coming back on and I lose everything.
(I do backup photos but everything else would be gone).

I’m so frustrated!!! Technology can be your friend one day and be your enemy the next!

The reason I’m mentioning this is because updating the family blog happens on my desk top computer NOT my laptop. So, there will be delays in updates and photos. Until this gets fixed (again). So please bear with me…

Year In Review

Tonight as we were coming home from dinner out, I asked Isabel what she was thankful for from 2013.

Her first thoughts were…

  • “running through the sprinklers a few times” and
  • “getting her ears pierced”

After talking with her further, we created a list of events that we are thankful for;

  • winning the Spelling Bee – hard work pays off
  • Dodge truck fire – only the truck was lost, we were safe and our house didn’t catch fire
  • birthdays in February – Isabel and Daisy
  • Gotcha day – something we celebrate privately
  • Good health – all of us
  • Being able to get outside and enjoy God’s beauty in our own backyard – our garden produced some awesome eats
  • Graduating first grade – moving onto second
  • birthday in July – Mommy’s
  • family vacations – being able to spend time together and learning together
  • birthday in October – Daddy’s

We have had a good year. God is in control and we are so blessed and thankful for everything He provides. Even though we don’t know what 2014 will bring, we are looking forward to seeing where God lead’s us and seeing where He uses us.

God bless and we’ll see you in 2014.

Glitter Glam

This afternoon Isabel wanted to do some glitter glam from her book she bought last week at the book fair.

So after testing her skin for allergies, she picked out and even designed her own glam!

Glitter Glammed!

2013-11-17 005_edited-1The blue dolphin didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to and the red swirl turned into an angle fish. Isabel’s design, the green seaweed, is the only thing that turned out!

She’s very happy with outcome, which I’m glad for.
We’ll see how long it lasts, she wants to show her friends at school tomorrow.
