New Job Orientation

Today was my new job orientation. It was scheduled for 3 hours but we actually got all the areas covered early.

My official job title is Substitute Teacher.

I am on a 90-days probation. The school needs to get a “feel” of my working abilities and I need to get a “feel” of where I fit at the school. I will be in the classroom with a lead teacher. There is plenty of work already, so I look forward to actually getting into the classroom with the kids. I will be working with 3 and 4 year-old in the pre-school program.

New Job

I went in for another job interview today…

I give all my thankfulness for this new development in my life to God. He saw all the needs and blessed me with the job!

I’ll post more later… for now I am just sending prayers of thankfulness to God. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Number 4

During class today Isabel lost her fourth tooth. She was super excited because it happened at school! She said she was eating her snack when she felt her tooth come loose. She said it was bloody and she went to the bathroom, where another girl helped her wet a paper towel to get the blood to stop. Mrs. Boettcher put her tooth in a small envelope so she could bring it home.

When we stopped for gas on the way home, I was able to get a few photos…

Her new smile!

A close-up of her new smile. It’s looking more and more like a big girl smile.

BTW… that bit of flesh poking up is just part of her gum and was back to normal the following day.

Gaming Sports

Tonight, I let Isabel play the Wii sports. She was excited to play golf, but since I couldn’t remember how to play, we started out with bowling.

She did a great job, got a 124 and no gutter balls!

After bowling, she asked again to play golf. So we headed over to the “course”. She seemed to pick it up quickly…

The first hole she got “eagle” on, the second hole would have been a “par” but the ball it the flag. The third hole put her over the top but not by much and she did great! The course was curved and very long. She actually made it to the “green” in 2 shots but ended up missing the hole a few times. Fantastic job though!

After that, she didn’t want to play anymore. So I took over and bowled a few rounds before dinner.

School Christmas Program 2011

Tonight was the school’s Christmas program. The Kindergarten program was first followed by the Elementary program.

Isabel has been excited about it for the past several days. I think she’s just excited for the cookie’s afterward!

The program from the performance.

Before heading out the door at home, we stopped by our tree for a quick photo.

Merry Christmas!
So cute!

After arriving at school we drop her off  in the music room and then head into the sanctuary of the church to find a seat. Hope we get a good one! Only then do we realize that we forgot the video camera. Bummer!

Both Kindergarten classes sang together as a group and sang about 5 or 6 songs. Each of the kids had a speaking part. We practiced Isabel’s line each and every day.

While everyone else is singing…wonder what she’s thinking??? Haha!!

“The angels sang beautiful praises to God.”  that was Isabel’s line. She said she got shy and forgot her lines.

It was a great program, the kids did a fantastic job singing and reciting their lines. Afterward we headed over to the gym for cookies and other goodies to eat.

Missing Something

Isabel lost her 2nd tooth today! It went so quickly that she didn’t get to name it this time! She had been wiggling it quite aggressively after school that during lunch it popped out.

All she wants for Christmas!

Both teeth are coming in!
(Sorry for the dirty mouth we just finished lunch and I didn’t think to have her brush.)

Now she gets to write her name on the tooth at school! She’s excited for that!
(I’ll have to get a photo)

…also something I found interesting while I was doing this blog. If you notice in the top picture, Isabel’s top teeth are separated, there is clearly a gap! She never had a gap! If you click on the link and go back to October and her first tooth coming out, her top teeth are together and there is no gap! Is her jaw growing? Is it getting ready for the two front teeth? That is so fascinating, I have to keep my eye on that one… amazing!

Chalk

Since today was no school, Isabel got out her chalkboard and worked with it all afternoon making different pictures. This one I thought was the best!

It’s a house with snails, butterflies, a bee, and birds in the sky.
A great way to spend your day when it’s cold and rainy outside.

Can you see her tooth hole???

If not…

Here’s a closer look! It’s very odd seeing her with a missing tooth.
