The FFOA

After her homework was complete, Isabel went about making her own restaurant!

Even with the place closed for the night there are still people hanging around inside!!

“I went to check out the newest hot spot, last night and was met with a long line to get in! This place was busy!! I decided to sit on the patio even with it being so cold out. However the owner had heaters set up around the area which made for a better eating experience.

The service was a bit slow and I heard one patron get upset about his BBQ oder. Patrons can dine-in or get their order to go. I ordered the breakfast plate; an over-easy egg, sausage, and pancakes. My waiter was very good at filling and refilling my water glass. I really enjoy that when a waiter keeps my beverage filled! The choices are a bit limited on the menu. However they do serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day.

I will have to try it out again, hopefully this time I can get a seat inside to see the decor!”

Guardian Of The House

Isabel has gone into training to be the “Guardian of the House”.

She made herself a sword, shield, spear, and helmet to protect us from whatever comes at us! She’s got us covered; so watch out!!!

(I love that the helmet is attached to her head with a headband! She comes up with 101 uses for headbands but doesn’t use them for what they are for!) LOVE IT!!

Bee Update

We need a break from all this learning…

with just over a week until the Bee. We have gone over 97 easy words + 246 average + 115 difficult = 458 words total for the Bee!

She has AMAZED me in her spelling!! Words I didn’t think she’d be able to spell she spelled!

We need to learn (and remember) 29 difficult and 18 average. The easy words were a piece of cake!!

Snowy Owls

Today my preschool class worked on a super cute art project!

A simple pine cone, batting, googly eyes, a triangle paper beak and a paper bag. That’s all and your done! Great job Mrs. D (lead teacher in my class) for the cute idea!!

They were so cute lined up on the shelf to go home, I couldn’t help but take a picture!
All the mommy’s loved them after class.

The Seventh One

Tonight, after much wiggling, Isabel has lost her seventh tooth!

It was being forced out by her adult front tooth that is finally coming in after being missing for over 5 months! She’s been excited to get her front teeth because now she can get back to normal eating again and eating her favorite food… corn-on-the-cob!!

Her seventh baby tooth has come out.

That little tooth from above came out from the right of her front tooth.

Game Nights

Most evenings we sat around the table playing games with Nana and Pompo. We either played “Sequnce” or “Rummikub“.

One afternoon, before Isabel went to bed…

We played her new “Spoons” card game.
Isabel caught on to this game really fast but still needed some help now and then.

Later that night, we played “Rummikub”, until early the next morning!

Gingerbread Get Dressed

Today we decorated our gingerbread men ladies (and Nana made 1 reindeer!). Enjoy!

Just getting started.
I didn’t realize the frosting I bought was green, oh well they were still yummy!

First pan of men ladies.
Since Isabel was giving them all girl names.

First batch completed.
The reindeer Nana made is in the upper left corner.

Second batch was slow going.
Isabel wanted to load them up with candy!

I think someone had a cookie!?!

Working on getting the little gals done.

2nd batch is a bit smaller then the first, we had to try them!
I made one (it’s in the upper right corner)!

Last few ones…

All finished!

House Decorating

Today Nana, Pompo and Isabel decorated our gingerbread house.

Gino bought it a week ago as a surprise to decorate with them while they were here.

However Isabel noticed it and wanted to decorate it the moment she saw it. I had to keep telling her (daily), we would wait until Christmas vacation (and for Nana and Pompo! – but I didn’t tell her that part)!

Isabel was super excited to finally be able to decorate it and she enjoyed doing it with Nana and Pompo as well. Enjoy!

Pompo did the icing while Nana and Isabel did the decorating.

Starting with the roof line.
Whoa! Pompo you’re losing some icing!

Spreading out the icing on the roof and getting the candies on before it dries.
Gotta work fast!

The roof is completed with red and green stars.
Now it’s time to do the sides.

Need a door.
Great job Pompo!

Working together to get the eave and door complete.

With help from Pompo, she gets those candies to stick!

Windows along the side are next.

Another door is added to the back.

I think they are about finished…

It’s finished!
Great job Nana, Pompo and Isabel. It looks fantastic!

Later tonight we are heading out to the Christmas Eve service at church and then to the park see some Fantasy Lights!… more picture to come!
