Today I moved Isabel’s room around…again. I’m not one for keeping furniture in one spot I have to try new ideas often. This move however was a must! I had just moved her room around a week before but realized the location of her crib was in a very bad spot. When I would lay her down for a nap or to bed at night, she would either pull clothes out of the closet, slam the closet doors, or play with the blinds in the window (Yikes!). So I decided the only way to get her to stop this behavior was to remove her from said items. So now her crib is located in the middle of the room and all other furniture is located around the room. So far…when she lays down to sleep for either a nap or bedtime she usually goes to sleep within 15 to 30 minutes. Hurray! Take a look at the changes that I made…Enjoy!

The rocker I placed in the corner where her crib was originally located until a few weeks ago when I first moved it. I didn’t like the crib here because our bedroom is located on the other side and Isabel would bang/kick on the wall and scream “momma!” until I would come and get her.

The second location where the crib was, before I moved it today, was right where the dresser is now. So far I’m liking the new location of the dresser. All the clothes are in a general area and I can get her dressed without walking across the room to get stuff.

The new crib location! I think I’ll be keeping the crib here permanently (until she gets out of it). This makes for plenty of floor space for her to play with her toys and her kitchen fits nicely in that far corner over by the “flies” on the wall.

I think she likes her “new” room too and now for a story…tata!

Isabel has been a real trooper with the rather warm days we have been having and along with 3 of her second molars coming in too. So today when I went to get her from her nap she was just drenched in sweat…poor girlie! So I striped her down to her diaper and rewarded her with a sucker!

She had a mystery flavor dum-dum which turned her tongue very blue.

I went and got my hand mirror for her to see what her tongue looked like.

Since we have had several warmer then normal temperatures around here, I decided that the grass needed some watering. I headed out with Isabel in tow to move the sprinkler to the other side of our driveway. I failed to mention to Isabel not to get wet…Oh well, I couldn’t say anything to after she was already wet! Besides it keep her busy while I was able to pull crab grass and weeds in the yard. She had fun and I had fun watching her. Enjoy!

She kept doing this the whole time she was out there. Maybe she liked the water shooting her in the head, I don’t know. I thought it was funny because then she would jump up laughing and run away from the water like it was hot or something. Silly girlie!

This morning Isabel and I stepped out into the backyard to catch some of the gorgeous rays of sunlight. While I got involved in trimming back a potted plant and having my head down and my hands all dirty. Isabel decided that I need some “flowers”…

“Here mommy” she says.

Later after nap time…the house was warming up rather quickly and I decided to put Isabel’s hair up to keep her cool. She wanted me to show Gma her hair with the pretty butterflies in it.

“Petty flies.”

We bought this huge stack of puzzles for Isabel about a year ago to help her learn words and associate words with actual pictures. At the time, she just wasn’t understanding how a puzzle works or understanding words/pictures. So I put them away until just the other day and she actually remembered them! She was so delighted to see them again, her eyes got as big as saucers. Every day since then she shuffles through them and sits on the floor putting them together again and again and again and again and again and again….

The next puzzle she put together was a pet theme with a dog, a cat, a fish, a bird, and a rabbit. “Hug bird”, she says.

For the next 4 weeks @ church Isabel will be learning how to talk with God.

We have been praying and teaching Isabel to pray ever since the beginning. Now we say prayers together at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and at bedtime. Just recently though, we have began to pray at nap time as well.

These are all just simple prayers like…
“Thank you God for this food.” “Thank you God for this time to sleep.”
and just yesterday, while Isabel and I were playing on the floor together, she stops what she was doing, folds her hands, and says; “Momma pray Daddy.” So right there we prayed for Daddy while he was at work.
“Jesus Daddy safe work, Amen”

With our prayer time together at home and learning more about prayer at church it will reinforce the importance of talking to God for her. Amen!
