Third Grade: Day 47

What a week!

But we are back to school and it’s hard to get back in the groove of things when we’ve been away for so long. In one more week it’ll be Thanksgiving! Which is so hard to believe. However before we get to Thanksgiving we have to get back to school!

For Bible we are in the book of Exodus reading about the plagues of Egypt. Today Isabel read about the plague of darkness in Exodus 10:8-27. In Luke we learned about the coming of the kingdom of God.

This week we started a new book in History/Geography called the “L.H.of the A.P. From Plymouth to the West” Volume 1 by D.B.

Good book so far but we’ve only read a few pages.

We worked on our map skills learning where the Untied States, Europe, India, Asia, Australia, China, Bermuda, Atlantic Ocean, London England, Plymouth Massachusetts and Salem Massachusetts. I love the fact that after we read a chapter or so, in our books we head to the map to find the locations we just read about!

We also started another new book called “The Thanksgiving Story” by A.D. This book we’ll finish by the the of the week due to it being so small.

Love the fact that all the books we read tell the same story but in a different and new way.

Our Native America prayer focus this week is the Lumbee Tribe from North Carolina.

Today we talked about Lyric verse poems and afterward I had Isabel try to write one of her own.

In science we talked about “ocean feeding” and learned about different ways sea creatures eat. We both enjoyed learning about the humpback whale and “bubble net” fishing. We watched several awesome videos about it.
