In The Kitchen: Kabobs And Slaw

With starting FPU (Financial Peace University), we are becoming more aware of the money being spent at the grocery store and eating out.

So we have taken Dave’s advice and started a meal plan for each week. Dave recommends a website to help you with that but after some research on our own. We decided against his recommended site and chose another.

This is our first week on the new meal plan and we went with a 6-night plan and opted for a “free” day for leftovers and for a day if plans change…

Tonight’s new (to us) menu items were:

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs and Apple Coleslaw.

Chicken, sweet bell peppers, and a bit of sweet onion. They smelled so good!!

We added dried cranberries to the slaw after serving. YUM! YUM!

First Grade: Day 113

Today is Terrific Tuesday with Chapel and library.

This morning I didn’t have to scrape windows before leaving for school. Hurray! It was 10 degrees warmer then yesterday morning!

I had to take a picture of her this morning because she looked very nice in her Chapel attire for today!

*******       *******       *******       *******       *******

Isabel said they took 2 math tests today. She said they were easy.

Today for Chapel the speaker was Pastor Holden. Isabel couldn’t remember what he talked about and I wouldn’t find out until Friday, when the campus newsletter comes out.

The Bible story lesson in class was about Saul becoming King.

Today’s social studies lesson was on travel/transportation: then and now. Isabel said they talked about trains and travel safety.

Classwork…

During library today Mrs. R read them the story “Chopsticks” by A K Rosenthal.
Afterward they drew pictures from the book.
