Goodbye Grandma And Grandpa

My parents left this morning around 10 a.m.  We had a very nice visit; didn’t get to do much outdoors because of the rain and chilly temperatures.

Goodbye Grandma and Grandpa. We hope that they enjoyed their vacation with us and that you were able to really relax while you were here. Also, want to thank them for everything while Isabel and I were with them for the month of August. We love you! (Isabel misses them already and wants them to fly to the airport so we can pick them up! Why do they have to leave so far away? – she says)

Meet The Teacher

Isabel has started preschool this year. She is going to a private school that is about 2 1/2 miles from our home! Very nice. She will begin classes on September 13th, but today, she was able to meet some of the kids in her class, meet her teachers, and see her classroom for the first time. Enjoy.

There are 20 4-year olds in her class, this is just a few of them.
Teacher’s are Mrs. “W” and Ms. Calvert.

This months letters: A and B

Numbers: 1-5

Shape: Circle

Color: Red

Concepts: Open/Closed, Inside/Outside, and Loud/Quiet

This months theme: “I am special”

Bible verse: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
– Psalms 139:14

Bible Concept: God made me just the way I am. He knows all about me.
(Which ties in with her theme at Sunday School:
“I know my sheep and my sheep know me” – John 10:14)

Since today was meet the teacher day, mommies and daddies got to go to class as well. The class was about an hour long, the kids got to practice writing their names and even got to make a very cool crown…”I am Beary Special”.

Goodbye Jeannie And Aaron

This morning Jeannie and Aaron left. We hope you had a great weekend with us.

While Jeannie was finishing up working on her Grasshopper “yummy” cake…

Aaron was pushing Isabel around the kitchen on his “new” bike.

The time together was so much fun. We need to do it again real soon…

Later that same night…My Dad was relaxing on the sofa when Isabel decided that he looked cold and started piling all sorts of things on him; pillows, her hopscotch rug, blankets, and anything else she could find!

Zoo Day With Family

Today we headed to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium with Jeannie, Aaron, Grandma, and Grandpa. Despite the cool temp, we had a really nice time. We got to see the new clouded leopards, the baby Sumatran tigers (born May 25th!), the red wolves, and all the other animals. Enjoy!

Aaron had lots of fun on Jalapeño El Nintendo, Isabel’s moose, while he was waiting to go to the zoo. What a handsome smile! Ride’um Aaron!

Aaron trying to get better acquainted with Daisy while she’s mellow. On the other hand, Daisy is a bit unsure…of this little person who’s always on the go!

A pretty flower at the zoo.

Us at the zoo except for mom, who was taking the picture.

Getting to “feel” the animals in the Discovery Center.

Mommy and Aaron having fun at the zoo!

After the zoo we spent a nice quite evening at home…

Jeannie worked on her cake that she made for us.

Gino, Grandpa, and Isabel played bowling on the Wii.
It was actually Isabel’s first time bowling and she did a great job!
Gino: 165
Grandpa: 144
Isabel: 111
Not to bad for a beginner!

While Aaron and I colored a picture together.

Later after the kids were in bed, the grownups got to bowl. The most impressive score for the evening was Jeannie getting over 200! Way to Go, Jeannie!

Museum Of Glass

Today we took our family over to the Museum of Glass. We arrived just as they were beginning to do some amazing work in the Hot Shop! The Hot Shop is the museums 90-foot steel cone house, where you can sit and watch artists use glass, watch videos, and listen to the process, art, and history of glass blowing. It’s very cool; I would go again just to sit and watch that. Isabel was very interested in the whole process and asked us lots of good questions! Unfortunately, they wouldn’t allow you to take photos in the museum. Enjoy!

Walking over to the museum from the Chihuly Bridge of Glass.

Jeannie and Aaron came along too, of course.

One of the pieces of art along the Bridge of Glass.

Before heading in…Grandma, Grandpa, and Isabel.

I did get to take photos in the kids area. Aaron and Isabel made masks together. Aaron and Jeannie are working on his…

While Isabel works on coloring hers.

Isabel’s completed mask. On the way home, she “braided” the hair.

Outside the museum once again, beside Martin Blank’s Fluent Steps. This interpretation of water spans 210 feet long and rises 15 feet above the reflecting pool. It contains 754 individually hand-sculpted pieces of glass, mostly created in the Hot Shop of the museum during the artists 45 -day visit in 2008. The whole collection glows at night from lights that point upward from the pool.

Trike riding and fun after a day at the museum.

Jeannie And Aaron Arrive

Jeannie and Aaron (Gino’s cousin and her son) arrived later today, ready to spend Labor Day weekend with us. With the day still nice and Aaron needing to get out and stretch his legs, Gino took them up to our community park. Glad you’re here and we hope you enjoy your stay with us! Enjoy!

After a few times down the “kiddie” slide, Aaron moved over to the bigger slide (the green one behind him)!

Aaron getting ready to head down the big slide. He’s not afraid of nothing!

Isabel enjoys going down the slide too, but on her belly!

Heading down one more time…I know what she’s thinking…slides are fun and all, but she wants to swing!

Bocce And Swinging At The Park

Today was a gorgeous day, so we headed over to the park with the swings and a game or two of Bocce.

Isabel doing what she loves to do when she goes to the park!

Grandma and Isabel enjoy swinging together.

Dad and I set up a Bocce court over in the grass along with playground.

Dad throwing his ball.

After many rounds, I was able to win one!
Actually, we were about tied with Dad winning the most rounds that we played.

Grandpa and Isabel swinging together, too.

Isabel and Grandma even played a round of Bocce before Isabel got distracted with the playground again.

Looks like Grandma is winning this round. Good try Isabel!

Riding And Crazy Golf

This morning while I was working on my final sewing project for baby Jace, Grandpa took Isabel outside to ride her bike. They spent most of the morning out there, going around and around the block. Thanks Grandpa for keeping her busy and building up those leg muscles! Enjoy!

After the bike ride and lunch, we headed out to the backyard for some crazy-golf. Grandpa built Isabel some crazy-golf holes for her crazy-golf golf game.

Grandpa lining up his shot.

Did he make the shot?

Not quite, but close enough and Isabel makes it to the hole as well.

Last hole in the crazy golf game.

Grandma and Isabel sharing some laughs.

Grandpa and Isabel send out big smiles. So cute!
