Big One

Yesterday while I was out watering, I noticed this BIG frog hopping along ahead of me as I watered. It finally got annoyed with me and my water and hopped (in 1 leap!) across the grass to my potted plants along the pathway. I called Isabel over to see it and what happened next was hilarious!

She went hopping along with the frog trying to catch the big thing. She eventually did, after we both had a few laughs about her trip around the yard!

I only had my cell phone with me, so it’s a bit fuzzy.

We normally see a lot of frogs (of all sizes) in our yard but this year, we’ve only seen a few small ones.
This one has been the biggest one this year.

The Big one.
She eventually let it go and went back to playing in her sandbox.

White Crab Spider

We’ve noticed this Crab Spider in the flower garden several times and we stay away from it but I do enjoy watching it from time to time.

Today I noticed it was dragging a very large dead bumble bee up the side of one of my flowers.

Giving that big old bumble bee a bear hug!

The Crab Spider had the bumble bee all anchored up with web.

It dropped it at one point.
When I went back to look at it later in the evening, the spider seemed to be sucking on the
bumble bee’s head!

AutoSpa

Today we took our spork to the “auto-spa” for some much needed time and attention.
Need to take care of her, I love this thing and am very thankful for it. She gets us where we need to go.

It got a good long bath, a clay-bar rub, steam cleaned the engine, vacuumed and shampooed inside, waxed and totally detailed.

Our spork SPARKLES and it’s smooth as the day she was made!
7 hours at the “auto-spa” and she looks great.

This whole area where the soot was from the Dodge fire is finally gone!
So is the moss growing on the roof (who knew?!?)!

… Now if I could only fit it back into the garage, I just need to move some wood.

Enrichment Class – Cupcakes Galore: Day 3

Today was day 3 of  Isabel’s cupcake class (which is offered through the school) and it is also the last day. The class was “off” the past 2 days due to the holiday.

During class today they made a panda bear cupcake.

Poor little thing lost it’s head, 1 arm and both feet on the way home. We had to repair it and then leave it in the fridge before taking it out to get a picture.

Her panda cupcake!
She did a great job on all her cupcakes this week!

Enrichment Class – Cupcakes Galore: Day 1

Today was day 1 of Isabel’s cupcake class (which is offered through the school). She really enjoyed the time spent with friends from school and decorating and eating cupcakes!

During class today they made 2 cupcakes. One was vanilla (she ate this one during class) and the other was red velvet.

Isabel’s red velvet cupcake.
It was so warm outside it melted in the car on the ride home!

2013-07-01 003_edited-1She got to choose how to decorate this one.
She had EVERYTHING on it!

Ant Colony – Part 1

For Christmas last year, Isabel got a gel ant farm for a gift and the company where you get the ants from doesn’t ship in winter. So we had to wait 6 months for the idle temperature.

I ordered the ants and we got them last night, and her little colony has been busy during the night.

They have already begun to add tunnels to the starter holes we put in before the ants were added to the colony.

The green gel is supposed to sustain the ants inside. So we’ll see how that goes.
Right now she has about 30 ants with what appears to be 2 queens.

The base of her colony lights (with batteries or an adapter) up so you can really see the
tunnels as the ants dig.
