Second Grade: Day 116

Today is Monday and it’s music with Mr. G

Isabel didn’t tell me much about her day. She said they did noting in the morning and had 2 recesses outside. The recess in the gym was boring.

When I asked her about music class, she said they practiced their music for their spring program. She says she enjoys learning the new music and songs.

This weeks Bible verse is…

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine,
you did for Me.” – Matthew 25:40

S.a.T. (show and tell) today this week is to share your favorite rhyming book. Isabel took…

She did really well for missing most of the week last week with her cold. She’s doing much better, only coughing once in awhile. Thanks for all the kind words and prayers.

Second Grade: Day 111

Today is Monday and it looks to be a soggy one! Today is also music class with Mr. G.

Isabel didn’t have much to say about her day. She has a very bad head cold and after school she was weary. She worked on a few pages of homework and then went to lay down and rest. I think tomorrow will be a sick day… poor girl.

The Bible verse for this week is…

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.” – Matthew 6:9-13

I later learned that for music class they are working on their spring concert music. Isabel says she likes the music but hasn’t learned all the words for the songs.

New cursive letters this week are: “d”, “g”, “o” and “c”.

Isabel is excited that the class has completed her name in lower case cursive.
Even though she can not write it for class, she can doodle it on paper! I’m loving the heart!

Second Grade: Day 110

Today is Friday!

The whole school participated in the nation-wide “Read the most from coast to coast”. Isabel said the class spent a good portion of the day in the computer lab taking AR (accelerated reading) tests. Isabel said she read as many easy books as she could to take as many tests as she could.

The program sponsor had a goal of 5 million AR tests competed today. The 30,000 participants took over 4,987,949 AR tests! Wow! Way to go! Last years total tests was 4,409,662.

Teacher Mrs. A and Isabel told me that they were losing another classmate. Mr. Colby and his family have moved and for the past month they have had to travel over an hour to get to school. So with great sadness the family, has decided to move to a school closer to their new home. Today was the last day for Mr. Colby and his younger brother.

Second Grade: Day 107

Today is Tuesday and it’s music class with Mr. G.

This morning looks to be a drier, sunnier/cloudy day! It turned out to be a lovely day, it actually got up to 50 degrees. Spring is on it’s way! We are looking forward to getting outside. I can’t wait to get the garden going and getting some fruit!

Isabel said she spent all 3 recesses outside! Ms. Mila and Isabel walked around the play yard talking.

Isabel didn’t say anything more about her day. She was super excited about her book from the book order. I got her a C and H book, about a boy and his stuffed tiger. We love C and H!
