Daisy’s foot

Today, I took Daisy to the vet to see why one of her left front toes was bleeding. We had noticed her licking it Wednesday night but didn’t realize until last night that it was bleeding. So this morning, I called the vet and got her in to be seen a.s.a.p.!

Come to find out Daisy had pulled her toe nail out and it was infected! OUCH! Needless to say, I was shocked! I had no idea a dogs toe nails could be just ripped out, so easily! I just cringe thinking about it! Poor girlie. So the Dr. trimmed her nails, trimmed up the area around her toe, and bandaged up her foot. Daisy goes back again on Tuesday of next week, to see how the infection is and to see if the toe nail has fallen out (which the Dr. said would likely happen!). So for now, we are to give Daisy antibiotics twice daily, keep her bandage dry (very dry), and put a “boot” on her foot whenever she goes outside.

She limps around when she’s up but has mostly stayed off the foot and slept.

Cutting craft

I’m always on the lookout for any new cutting projects that Isabel and I can do either together or by herself. I found this cool book a Wal-Mart with different coloring, gluing, and cutting projects in it. Today, she did four cutting projects. Enjoy!

After cutting out the pieces, she gets down to gluing them on.

Getting just enough glue.

The coloring, I did today, she wasn’t in the mood to color, I guess.

Working on making a mosaic rainbow.

Getting the rainbow finished.
I worked on the sun, just gluing the pieces on the page for her.

Her finished art projects for the day. She did all the cutting; she’s getting rather well with it!

Afterward, it was time to play dress up.
I just love my little ladybug!

New Life Eggs 2010

This year we only did a dozen new life eggs and Gabbi was with us to add her artistic touch as well. Enjoy!

Getting all the gear together. We used a Betty Crocker gel coloring that was very “neat”, no worries about spills like with those tiny squeeze bottles.
We had primary colors and then neon purple, pink, green, and orange. Isabel dipped all but 4 eggs; Gabbi added her personal touch to 3 and Gino did a very “special” one!

Getting the gel coloring in the cups with vinegar and water.

After Isabel dipped all her eggs, she drew on a few.

By this time all the eggs were done except for Gino’s “special” egg. Gabbi decided to dye a shirt, which turned out really cool.

Gino working on his “special” egg…can you tell what it is???

Our finished New Life Eggs!

Without eggs we would not have life; without Jesus we would not have new life!
Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Building Blocks

Tonight Isabel got the blocks out and started building and as she was building she started to tell a story of what she was building. Enjoy!

“This is a fruit store (not to be confessed with a fruit stand). People buy fruit here. The building on the right is the store and it has a chimney on the roof. It has banana’s out front (the yellow box) and steps because it’s raised up off the ground and people need to get into the store. The man on the green block is a worker, he helps the people when they come to the fruit store. The man inside the building (on the left), that is his house, he has a chimney on his house too, and he makes fruit cookies from the fruit at the store and gives them to people.” Isabel says.

“This is a bakery, people get pies here and only pies. It has steps because it’s raised up off the ground and people need to get pies. When people come to the bakery, the workers come and give you slices of pie. The green slides on the right are for the workers who work at the bakery for when they get bored. They can slide on the slide.” Isabel says.

Drawing Class

After dinner tonight, we went to drawing “class” with Isabel. We each took a turn at the easel drawing a picture of something.  Enjoy!

This is Isabel “giraffe”.

Watching Daddy draw in “class”.

Daddy’s finished robot.
I got to draw too but no one took a picture of it! Which is fine by me because I’m not an artist, all I drew was a refrigerator and it wasn’t all that good.

Palm Sunday

Today at church, we got a surprise when we learned that Isabel would be on stage for the very first time! Enjoy!

While the church sang, “Hosanna” by Paul Baloche and Brenton Brown,
the kids came out waving palm branches.

Can you see Isabel in the above photo? So glad I had my camera…

For such a job well done, she got a sucker!

Rock and Worship Roadshow 2010

The Rock and Worship Roadshow came to the Tacoma Dome and for just $10 bucks it got you in the door to see…Sidewalk Prophets, Remedy Drive, Fee, Francesca Battistelli, Family Force 5 (still weird, we saw them at Creation last year, it was Gabbi’s first time and she thinks they are weird too), David Crowder*Band, and Mercy Me. I didn’t get photos of Sidewalk Prophets because Gino and I had left our seats to go and get some merchandise while Gabbi stayed with Isabel, so didn’t get to “see” them but got to hear them. Enjoy!

Remedy Drive.

Fee.

Francesca Battistelli.

David Crowder*Band.

Opening for Mercy Me (who put on an amazing show!); can’t wait for their new CD coming out in May. It’s going to be awesome!

Afterward, all the members of each band sat down to give out autographs for the fans. We would have waited in line but it so past someone’s bedtime and she was DONE! Maybe next time…

Ask Isabel, he’s her man! She loves his music!
