Golfing

Isabel got a little bored with the snorkel really quickly but came up with a “new” way to use them. Enjoy!

She uses them for golf clubs!
I’ll have to update with some photos of her actually using them as golf clubs but it’ll have to be after the rain lets up.

New golf clubs because the snorkel just wasn’t working.

Early Word Building

For the past 9 days, we have been giving Isabel a “word” of the day. This “word” is given to her at breakfast and she has all day to figure it out, if she gets the word she gets rewarded, if not it’s no big deal we’ll try again tomorrow. Today we took a bit of a test to see how she’s moving forward with her learning the words of the day. Enjoy!

I took the 9 words that she’s learned and had her write them on her board.
She did an amazing job!

Pig.
Hat.
Bat.
You.
Tap.
Dog.
Sit.
Cat.
Stop.

Thank You Nana and Pompo

Today a big package arrived in the mail addressed to Isabel from Nana and Pompo, along with some surprise gifts that had been saved from Gma Tee. Enjoy!

After getting her out of the box, the first thing I wanted to do was change Sally’s clothes then I needed to feed her. Lots of work for a new mommy to do.

Nana picked out this outfit for me.
“I like purple” she says.

I got sparkly headbands, too.

Later in the evening, I’m still playing with Sally.
I love her, thank you so much Nana and Pompo (and Gma Tee too)!

Slaw Memories

This weekend we went out shopping in a new area of town. We happened to stumble across this restaurant called, Jimmy Macs Roadhouse (kind of like, Texas Roadhouse in Utah). Anyway, we both ordered the lunch special, a prime rib sandwich with mushrooms (I got mine w/out), coleslaw and  steak fries. While Isabel munched on a corn dog and shoe string fries. When the sandwich was placed in front of me, the first thing I went for was the coleslaw, since I’m a lover of the slaw.

Immediately I was taken back in time to a blue kitchen in my grandparents big house in Nebraska. The coleslaw tasted just like my Grandma Euny’s!!! I was so overwhelm with emotion that I started crying in the restaurant! It didn’t matter though, I was in her kitchen eating her fresh slaw and fried fish, visiting with family but most importantly…she was there!!

I told Gino I would go back, the sandwich was amazing but would go just for the slaw! Precious!

New Life Eggs 2010

This year we only did a dozen new life eggs and Gabbi was with us to add her artistic touch as well. Enjoy!

Getting all the gear together. We used a Betty Crocker gel coloring that was very “neat”, no worries about spills like with those tiny squeeze bottles.
We had primary colors and then neon purple, pink, green, and orange. Isabel dipped all but 4 eggs; Gabbi added her personal touch to 3 and Gino did a very “special” one!

Getting the gel coloring in the cups with vinegar and water.

(a bit blurry) Gabbi’s finished “rainbow” egg.

After Isabel dipped all her eggs, she drew on a few.

Gino’s finished egg.

By this time all the eggs were done except for Gino’s “special” egg. Gabbi decided to dye a shirt, which turned out really cool.

Gino working on his “special” egg…can you tell what it is???

Our finished New Life Eggs!

Without eggs we would not have life; without Jesus we would not have new life!
Happy Resurrection Sunday!
