Quite Please While I Sing

She says to me as she grabs the “microphone”, I mean tripod and begins to sing all the songs she knows and a few that she makes up as she goes along! Enjoy!

She actually started doing this a few days back but I haven’t been able to get the camera out to take a few shots of her actually doing it! Her imagination is just incredible! What will she think of next?!?

Baking Cookies

I’ve been a little behind on my blogging the past few days…but I plan to catch up before the end of the week but first…Enjoy!

Today, while I was busy doing some general cleaning, I noticed Isabel stick her memory match game tiles and tray inside the entertainment center. I asked her what she was doing and she said, “baking cookies” as she was placing them into the “oven” to bake. She then went off to play while her “cookies’ baked and then returned a few minutes later to retrieve them from the “oven”. But first she went and got my oven mitts from the drawer and slipped them on. When I asked her what she was doing with the oven mitts she said “The cookies are hot Momma.” The oven mitts were a bit to big and stiff to pick up her little tray of “cookies”, so she went back to the drawer and got some potholders instead. At this point, I was having a very hard time keeping my laughter from escaping and watched as she took the “cookies” out and set them on the “counter” (the sofa) to cool! She said we had to wait because they were to hot to eat!…Oh the imagination of a three year old!

These are the “cookies”.

This is the “oven” where she “baked” her “cookies”.

Last Post

In the corner area of the yard were the three waste containers will be, we decided to put up a fence so you wouldn’t have to see them when your enjoying the backyard. So today, Gino worked on getting the post hole dug and the post cemented into the ground as well.

dsc_0318_edited-1

This post hole was by far the easiest hole to dig for the entire fence!
He’ll get this done and leave it to set overnight and then tomorrow he’ll finish up.

Bucket head; this reminds me so much of my nephew Bryson…

Monday: Gino finished up this little bit of fencing; all that needs to be done is to splash it with some stain.

Crying leads to laughter and…always continued prayer

If you don’t know, Contemporary Christian artist, Steven Curtis Chapman and family experienced a very devastating accident at the family home one year ago today. That involved older brother Will Franklin and the death of their youngest adopted daughter Maria. Since hearing the news on T.V. last year, I have prayed, wept, and laughed as Mary Beth, the mother, has graciously opened her heart on her blog about the pain of losing a child and struggling with a tragedy she doesn’t understand. Today, continue to pray for the family on this one year anniversary and that through this tragedy all the grief and sorrow will reflect back to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…there is HOPE…

Another Day of Dirt

I didn’t get outside earlier to take some photos because Isabel and I had to run and do a grocery store run. By the time we got back home, Gino had moved a lot of dirt on his own!

Looking southwest; have almost made it to the fence…

But still a lot more to do!
The material on the ground (far right) is to keep the top soil from clogging the French drain that we had installed a few weeks ago.

In the heat of the day, we take a break to get cool and wet our whistles.

Drinking the last drops of water.

dsc_0267_edited-1

Something we haven’t ever seen in Daisy’s 6 years…her laying in the dirt!
Trying to get the best heat…this dog is always cold!

dsc_0260_edited-1

We are finished! The area not covered with top soil, we are going to leave for something else like cement, larger pavers, bark, or gravel; we just haven’t decided yet.
That area will be for our 3 waste bins; garbage, recycle, and yard waste.

Enjoying another break in the shade.

Now all that’s left is some sod and we have ourselves a back yard! Woohoo!

Good Dirt

To get the yard even more ready for sod, we brought in a better grade of top soil then what we had delivered last year. This stuff is high quality dirt! It’s a 3-way mix of manure, compost, and screened soil.

8 cubic yards of top soil.
Isabel likes to climb the mound on but don’t tell her what’s in there…she won’t touch it!
