After the second funeral some of the family headed over to the Golden Corral for some lunch, fellowship with one another and then we broke up as a group and headed in different directions for home…

Monday we headed out as a carivan of 6 cars headed to Pueblo, Colorado to Gma Tee’s second funeral with more family and friends. Along the way, we stopped and enjoyed time together and the scenery around us as we traveled. Enjoy!
In Utah, just before the Colorado boarder we saw this perfect circle among the scattered puffy clouds. That was cool and very interesting!
In Green River, Utah we stopped for lunch and Gino noticed the temperature displayed on the dash…O.k. it gets hot in Utah but not that HOT!
In Colorado, we drove through some gorgeous mountain passes.
This fertile valley was lush with green grass and nestled in the valley beyond was a farm (you can just make out the red barn).

On Sunday, we spent the afternoon over at Nana and Pompo’s relaxing and visiting with family. I warmed up a ham in the oven for everyone and we had leftover salad’s from the funeral dinner the day before. Isabel was the the crowd “stealer”; she twirled and danced for everyone! She had so much fun spending time with all her cousins and family. Enjoy!

Before we headed over to Nana and Pompo’s, we stopped by the nest to see how the baby’s were doing since we didn’t stop to see them the day before…
In just one day they have grown so much!
Their heads are fully above the rim of the nest now! They are about to burst from their tiny home! The next day, we left for Colorado and didn’t hear about the babies until we arrived back at home; when we learned that they had flown the nest! On Tuesday, one baby flew away and the following day, the other left as well.
We don’t have very many pictures of Grma Tee but the ones that we do…are very precious & priceless…Enjoy!

Tee Marie Valdez went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 8th, 2009. She was born on June 16th, 1924 in Las Tablas, New Mexico to Rosendo and Agapita Cisneros. Tee married Eddie J Valdez on February 22nd, 1942 in Monte Vista, Colorado. They had 10 children.
Tee worked as a nurse and also an owner of a few businesses, including Loco Taco in St. George, Utah. She loved to minister and share her faith with everyone. She was a prayer warrior and loved spending time in the Word of God. Her prayer and dream were to see all her family come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Tee also loved to cook, garden, travel, embroider, cross-stitch, and bargain shop.
Tee loved to hear her family have fun and laugh. She enjoyed making others laugh by playing practical jokes. It has been an honor and privilege to have her as our mother. We will greatly miss her and we treasure our memories. But, rest assured we will see you one day in Heaven.

Duane Valdez of Salt Lake City, Utah,

and adopted granddaughters, Annette Martinez of Tucson, Arizona and Gina Escobar of Pueblo, Colorado. Tee also raised granddaughter Melissa Simpson of Nashville, Tennessee; 69 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters; husband Eddie; and sons Alexander and Eddie Jr.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 13th, 2009 at Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel in St. George, Utah. There was a visitation held prior to services. Additional services were also held on Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 in Pueblo West, Colorado. Interment was taken in Roselawn Cemetery, in Pueblo West, Colorado.
Tonight we headed to Home Depot to pick up a new patio set and umbrella that we’ve had our eye on for awhile. After looking around everywhere, we decided on this 7-piece set by Hampton Bay. The framing is colored in a Espresso finish and the table has large removable ceramic tiles (very cool!).

Yesterday, we awoke early and headed out the door to get the sod picked up just after 9 a.m., we had rented a U-haul trailer which made for an easier hauling/unloading. Enjoy!

We laid the first piece down at around 11:30 a.m. after Gino treated the dirt with some lime. After getting a good flow going we moved along rather quickly….
Isabel doing her part with helping lay the sod down. We let her walk on the seams to get them “meshed” together. She thought this was fun!

Yesterday, we had the same guys that did the work on the patio come back and do some curbing in the front and backyard (before the sod is placed down (Tomorrow!!!)).
Backyard: the curb coloring is a brown color with black as a crack filler and is the same texture as the boarder on the patio. I took these shots early in the day before the sealant was applied, so it’s still a bit “wet”.
The curbing wraps around from the “new” fence to the patio; which is about 60 linear feet. All the area between the fence and the curbing will be for plants/shrubs. The area between the curbing and the paver pathway will all be sod!

and is about 40 linear feet.
