Second Grade: Day 81

Today is Tuesday and it’s music class with Mr. G.

In music they are still listening to the “Nutcracker“. She couldn’t remember what part they are at but she is enjoying it. She asked if we could go see the ballet and I told her it’s usually only seen in November and December each year. So we missed it but there is always this year!

During math period today the class learned how to “read” a thermostat (see below).

She didn’t mention anything else about her day, other than she hit her head on the ground after falling off the bars at recess. The school called me to tell me about it at the time and there was no bump or redness after it happened. She’s O.K.

Isabel was so excited to see Teacher Mrs. A waiting at the classroom door this morning, she ran up to her smiling and gave her a big welcome back hug!
(We later learned that Teacher Mrs. A went back east for the funeral of her mother which was just after Christmas)

Isabel didn’t have much to say about her day. They spent 1 recess in the gym because of the rain and she’s just glad her teacher’s back.

Today’s Chapel was fun, exciting and sounded like a great message to the kids. Isabel was sure excited to tell me all about it after school!

A troupe of student actors and singers, gave a message about your value. Our value cannot be increased or decreased by what we eat, drink, wear or how we treat others. Our value is inherent because God created each of us individually. This group travel around to share a anti-bullying program with children everywhere.

Today the troupe played “Bobble Head” and “Bucket Head” games with several students while spreading the “I’m Now” message.

Classwork…

She didn’t bring any home.

Second Grade: Day 76

Class was a bit crazy with the substitute Isabel said. People were not listening or following directions. So please pray for Mrs. V this week.

Isabel also said she handed out the friendship gifts during recess. Both girls liked their BFF gifts. One gift was an owl necklace and the other was a handmade friendship bracelet from Isabel.
