Soccer Shots: Day 2

Today’s Soccer Shots class was a review from last week.

Ready for soccer!

She wasn’t all that excited about the color of shirt (which isn’t purple) and the kid on the shirt is a boy (she’s not a boy!, she said). So Daddy told her that the boy on the shirt was him with spiky hair and all! Way to go Daddy! Now, she’s excited to wear her soccer shirt!

Doing jumping-jacks and other crazy stuff to get warmed up for class.

Stopping the ball with your hear. Ezzra did it but Isabel used her hands!

Toe taps with the ball.

She scored! Hurray for Isabel! Love it.

Another goal! After class Isabel said that she made a total of 5 goals. Great job!

Soccer Practice

Today after school and lunch, I headed out back with Isabel to practice for soccer tomorrow.

Gorgeous day to be out practicing soccer.

Running to get the ball.

Getting ready to kick.

We chased each other around while we dribbled the ball up and down the yard. Our “goals” were the area behind Isabel (above photo) and to the end opposite end of the grass before the bushes along the fence. We had fun but it was a bit cool, might need to wear gloves next time but so glad the sun was out… We’ll see how she does tomorrow at Soccer Shots.

School News: Letter P

Today Daddy rode along with us to school. He was getting a ride with his friend Jason to his class today at the college.

Today was Chapel and the story today was from John 13:1-17, Jesus washes the Disciples feet. To illustrate what Jesus did, Isabel said, there was a bucket of water and one of the teacher’s washed one of the boys feet. Also, during chapel time they sang, “Jesus Love Me” and the “B-I-B-L-E“. During Chapel, Isabel’s class was the quietest and were awarded stickers for it! Good job class!

The letter “P” is for Pink Prints, Popcorn, Pop, and Plate.

During recess, Isabel said she was trying to stay away from Devan because he was playing rough BUT during craft time he was being nice and was helping by handing out glue sticks.

The special helper today was Ja’Siah. For show and tell, Ja’Siah brought a yellow-blue and orange dinosaur that roared. It also had arms that raised up to heaven so it was praising God, Isabel said. He also brought a large Etch A Sketch. For snack Ja’Siah brought Scooby doo chocolate snacks and chocolate teddy bear snacks and juice to share with the class.

Tumbling Tykes: Day 2

Today was Isabel’s 2nd day of tumbling/gymnastics. She says that she really likes it but she tends to talk about her soccer class more!

Today was learning all about keeping your feet together, whether it be for landing after a jump or rolling on the mat. Keep your feet together! Also, learned the word straddle and how that pertains to tumbling and gymnastics.
BTW…Isabel was the line leader today that’s why she’s standing up by Ms. Mo.

In class today, they learned how to do baby cartwheels, to jump backward (w/out looking) while keeping their feet together, log rolled while keeping their feet together, worked more on tumbling down the wedge, and played with the parachute.

Stretching out!

Keep your knees down while you stretch; getting some help from Ms. Mo.

Learning how to do “baby” cartwheels with “Ned”. “Ned” is the mat, which has placements for hands and feet for learning how to do cartwheels. Very cool.

Isabel’s doing great; feet together and arms up. Way to go!

Working on wedge tumbling (the beginning of doing flips in gymnastics!). Ms Mo wants all the kids able to do this all on their own (or close to it!).

Parachute fun! They waved it fast and hard, flipped around a bear, and ran around in a circle… well sort of.

Where did they go? You should have heard them giggle!!

After the parachute, Ms. Mo let them do some free play. Isabel crawled through the tube before heading back to practice all that she learned today
… remember feet together!

At the end of class, Ms. Mo did a magic trick with a box and a coin. She made put the coin in the box and made it disappear! The marker smell for this week was coconut. Isabel wanted to know why it was green when coconuts aren’t green.

School News: Daddy Helper

This morning was a really cold one, the wind was/is blowing and yet there are bits of sunshine and blue sky. Wish it would warm up soon.

Today, Isabel was excited about having a Daddy Helper in class, who was Presley’s Daddy. Isabel said he was really nice and she seemed to like that he was helping in the class today.

The Bible story was from 2 Kings 5:1-14, Naaman the leper being cleansed after dipping 7 times in the Jordan River.

They worked on their alphabet journals with the letter “P”. During free play Isabel played at the sensory table which was changed from Friday’s class. It now has white, hard beans and pink and red hearts that you can dig and find. They also started practice writing their last names as well as their first name.

The practice of her first name… she’s getting so good at it!

The practice of her last name… Good job for the first time!

The special helper today was Nevan. For show and tell Nevan brought a (AGAIN!! she said – I think she’s getting a little sick of it) Buzz Lightyear. For snack Nevan shared with the class graham crackers, strawberry or blueberry GoGurt® (Isabel had blueberry) and juice.

On the way home from school, Isabel made a comment about her ear “feeling funny”. I’m hoping it’s NOT an ear infection and only her allergies, which have been bothering her lately. I checked her temp and gave her some ear drops from her last infection. God, bless my little one today, heal her from this affliction. Amen.

Craziness After Church

After church, while Jeannie was getting ready to head back home, these 3 were whooping it up in the front room.

Dancing around or falling over… Lots of laughter and squeals of joy!

Aaron playing a tune on the Pooh piano.

Cute little cousins… Isabel, Aaron, and Shianne (Shi).
They had so much fun this weekend!
Thank you for coming and celebrating Isabel’s birthday with us!

Birthday Party

Today is Isabel’s birthday party with friends and family. We invited 13 kids and 9 actually came! We had a total of 22 people with parents and kids. Afterward, Isabel said she had to many people in her house. We had a great time celebrating Isabel’s special day! Thank you everyone for celebrating our little Ladybugs big day!

Jeannie made ladybugs for the cupcakes. So adorable, I love them! Thanks Jeannie!

Looking north, with our Diego and Dora banner!

While everyone was arriving we let the kids play in the front room (no one was allowed upstairs!) with toys from Isabel’s room. After everyone arrived, we had Subway sandwiches, chips and dip, and lemonade. After all the kids ate and the adults were still eating, the kids went back to playing in the front room. After eating, I decided to call the kids into the kitchen to play our 1 game. Pin the banana on Boots (Dora’s friend).

Each of the kids took a turn (except Shi and Aaron) and I told them there were no winners, we all were! Our prizes would be given out when it was time to go home. Everyone had fun playing. At first Isabel didn’t want to even do it but when she saw that all her friends were doing it and having fun she decided that she would. She was the second closest to getting the banana in Boots’ hand. Great job!

After the party, each friend got to take home a balloon of their choice and a goodie bag filled with Dora and Diego things from a paddle ball, to stickers, a pencil, and candy. Happy Birthday Isabel

Today is Isabel’s Birthday! For the special occasion we have decided to have a Dora and Diego themed birthday party with family and friends from school tomorrow. Jeannie, Aaron, and Shianne (Shi) drove over this afternoon from Eastern Washington to help us celebrate tonight and tomorrow as well. To get her party started for today, we went out to dinner tonight with everyone. We went over to our favorite Italian restaurant the Flying Tomato. We shared a pizza with Jeannie, Aaron, Isabel and myself. While Gino had a chicken dish with pasta and Shi had mac and cheese. Yum! Afterward we headed home and opened our gifts to Isabel.

Since we had guests, Jeannie was so nice to get a family birthday photo before Isabel opened her gifts.

Since Makayla wasn’t able to attend Isabel’s party tomorrow, her mother brought her gift to school today. So we decided to let her open it with the gifts that we had gotten her.

Quick photo with Shi and Aaron…silly kiddo!

Littlest Pet Shop Dancing Dog. This little gal is so cute! She is a speaker, a flashing light dancer, and a dog (barks, growls, whines, and sneezes). She can be linked to any musical portable device (MP3) and she dances and flashes lights to the music. She also has prerecorded music as well. Just touch her nose and get ready to dance! Isabel loves it!

A few new clothes.

A new microphone… since the one from Christmas was returned for not working properly and it works well with our birthday party theme tomorrow! (Aaron loved this toy, the whole weekend he and Isabel would dance and dance and dance… Shi got in some dancing too!)

A new soccer ball for all that soccer playing that will be happening!

Makayla’s gifts to Isabel. The books were a huge hit, she (we) loves the Berenstain Bears (we have videos and now lots more books!). Thank you so very much Makayla for the special gifts. BTW… Isabel named her new doll Makayla!

Now it’s off to bed… tomorrow is going to be an even BIGGER day and we have got to get some sleep otherwise we’ll be grumpy!
