Crater Lake – Preview

Today we headed to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.

Here is just a preview of what is to come…

CraterLake_Panorama1

It took some major tweaking to get this panoramic view and you can still see the seams a bit.

I will continue to work on the pictures from our trip and add them slowly over the next several days. We had a wonderful time and we all (Daisy too) enjoyed the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the area. Very gorgeous area!

My 1000 Post

My 1,000th posting has arrived!!

I am shocked that it’s here.

When we began this blog 6 years ago, I had no idea what to talk/blog about, let alone who’s going to read what I write!?! What do I have to say that is meaningful to those who read this blog?

Someone has been reading my words, most of those people have been family and a few friends. No one else has ever told me they read what I write, besides my own parents and they enjoy it. My father skims through the postings, mainly looking at the pictures and my Mother reads each one through. So someone does read it!

In those 6 years, I have really begun to enjoy blogging. I feel terrible if, I miss a day. This is my journal, about our lives and what we do. Some day, Isabel will be able to look back and read what she did on this and this day. She may even get a few laughs out of it and say, “Hey, I remember doing that!”

What I hope she gets most out of my words/blog, is that I love her very much. I want her to look back and remember those times that she has forgotten when she’s older. So she can sit at her dining room table (eating dinner) and tell her kids about the time she did this and the time she did that. Just like she enjoys doing with Daddy and I now and hearing about when we were her age.

So what I write is for her… remember to have faith, put your hope in Jesus. He loves you more. Laugh and enjoy this website.

It’s for you, Squirt! I love you.

Still Here

I am still here… I’ve just been on a blog-vacation.

After school got out, I felt like I was free from the blog to enjoy summer but now that more then a month has gone by, I need to blog about something. We’ve remodeled a room (which had to remain a surprise until our guests arrived), we’ve planted a garden, worked more in the yard and have had guests for 2 weeks. We’ve been here and there and now we are home again before we go again! So I must catch up at some point otherwise you’ll think I’ve left… for good!

(BTW… be sure to check back to mid June, since my catching up begins there… Enjoy!)

Away

It’s been about a month or two since I’ve updated the family blog. At the beginning of August my Grandmother passed away and Isabel and I traveled back for the funeral. The plan, originally, was for us to stay a week or two and then that all changed after we realized the cost of flights to return home. So we decided to stay and drive back with my parents to Utah and then take a flight out of Vegas. Well, that didn’t work out either, so we ended up staying until the end of the month when my parents went on vacation… to our house. We rode along with them back home and got to save ourselves a few hundred dollars on flights for us. So now that I’m home and things are again starting to fall into a normal routine, I can hopefully get the blog back up to the latest news, information, and happenings of our life’s. So keep coming back, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do! See ya…

Show cancelled

Gino headed to Texas this past week to spend time with his brother, Ron and family. The plan was for the two of them to attend an NBA game (which they did) and then the following night go to a Stryper concert. Unfortunately, the concert was postponed until December (We later learned the band had the flu)! What a bummer!

Pueblo

After the second funeral some of the family headed over to the Golden Corral for some lunch, fellowship with one another and then we broke up as a group and headed in different directions for home…

On The Road To Pueblo

Monday we headed out as a carivan of 6 cars headed to Pueblo, Colorado to Gma Tee’s second funeral with more family and friends. Along the way, we stopped and enjoyed time together and the scenery around us as we traveled. Enjoy!

In Utah, just before the Colorado boarder we saw this perfect circle among the scattered puffy clouds. That was cool and very interesting!

In Green River, Utah we stopped for lunch and Gino noticed the temperature displayed on the dash…O.k. it gets hot in Utah but not that HOT!

In Colorado, we drove through some gorgeous mountain passes.
This fertile valley was lush with green grass and nestled in the valley beyond was a farm (you can just make out the red barn).

Fun With Family

On Sunday, we spent the afternoon over at Nana and Pompo’s relaxing and visiting with family. I warmed up a ham in the oven for everyone and we had leftover salad’s from the funeral dinner the day before. Isabel was the the crowd “stealer”; she twirled and danced for everyone! She had so much fun spending time with all her cousins and family. Enjoy!

Before we headed over to Nana and Pompo’s, we stopped by the nest to see how the baby’s were doing since we didn’t stop to see them the day before…

In just one day they have grown so much!

dsc_0074_edited-1

Their heads are fully above the rim of the nest now! They are about to burst from their tiny home! The next day, we left for Colorado and didn’t hear about the babies until we arrived back at home; when we learned that they had flown the nest! On Tuesday, one baby flew away and the following day, the other left as well.
