Second Grade: Day 167

Today is Monday and there are 12 days left of school! Sounds better to Isabel then more than 2 weeks.

She’s ready for school to be over and she’s bored. She says all they do is review and review some more. Hang in there kiddo, it’ll be over before you know it!

This week’s Bible verse is…

“I pray also for those who will believe in Me… that all of them may be one.” – John 17: 20, 21

The Bible lesson this week is to serve others in unity.

S.a.T. this week is to share something you hope to learn in third grade. Isabel hasn’t done S.a.T. for several weeks. She keeps telling me she done with it, she doesn’t like doing it. No one listens to her when she’s at the front of the class. So she’s done, she doesn’t want to do it anymore.

This week the class will be learning the capital cursiveZ”, “V”, “W” and “X“.

Spelling words for this week are…

overdue
overnight
overboard
overflow
overhead
unfriendly
unsure
uneven
unfair
unfold
daughter
yawn
hungry
group
above
heroine: a woman who has done something brave or helpful
hospitality: friendly treatment of guests or strangers
refused: would not do
spectators: people who watch
stood: was unchallenged

Last week’s MAP testing in complete and the class did such an awesome job that they will be having an extra recess and an ice cream treat this week!

This weekend, Isabel worked hard at getting her Northwest Trek mammal animal report completed. It’s due this Friday, June 6, 2014.

She did an awesome job! She told me she’s glad she picked the porcupine because most of the class picked the fox. She also said she’s glad it’s over because she tired of writing about porcupines. We keep telling her she better get used to writing papers because she’s only going to be doing more of them!

The illustrations MUST to be drawn and colored by Isabel. The cover can have photos from the internet.
