Guardian Of The House

Isabel has gone into training to be the “Guardian of the House”.

She made herself a sword, shield, spear, and helmet to protect us from whatever comes at us! She’s got us covered; so watch out!!!

(I love that the helmet is attached to her head with a headband! She comes up with 101 uses for headbands but doesn’t use them for what they are for!) LOVE IT!!

First Grade: Day 93

It’s Marvelous Monday! Which means All-School Open too.

This morning on the way to school there was a traffic accident at the top of our “hill”. When we drove past the scene, I noticed that our Principle Mrs. B was standing next to one of the vehicles talking with the driver inside. I didn’t notice the drive but did pray for all those involved. I later learned that our kindergarten teacher Mrs. M was in the accident. I will have to stop by her classroom and see how she’s doing. Isabel said, Mrs. M had stayed home today, which is totally understandable! Keep her in prayer…

Isabel had 5 “R’s” on her desk this morning when I dropped her off, she placed them all in the bucket to win during A.S.O. She didn’t get picked for a “Shining R” but she did get called to the front (along with the other participants) by Principle Mrs. B for recognition for the Spelling Bee last week.

She was given a participation certificate by the ACSI.
Very cool.

This week’s Bible verse is:

“Be transformed by the renewing of you mind.” Romans 12:2b
She needs to have it memorized and spelled correctly for Friday’s test.

Front: working with holidays.

In light of Isabel’s birthday today, we got a kick out of this school paper below…

Back: when to use “I” and “me“.

Some math work from today.

Isabel also mentioned that they started adding 3 numbers together! Like 0+0+0=? or 3+3+3=?.

Groundhog day crossword. Isabel loves doing these.

Front: color the pictures that rhyme.
Great job on the coloring!

Back: listen for the /ē/ sound and get the sheep to the tree.

Working with this weeks spelling words.

This week’s spelling words are:

me – mean – bean – be – beet – feet – every – about – low – road
– who – door – tight – letter – else – showing

I took cupcakes to share with the class around noon. Teacher Mrs. B says she shares them with the class before they leave for the day. Isabel told me that while no one was looking she ate another cupcake! That’s O.K. you can have 2 cupcakes in class it’s your Birthday!

Can you see the cupcake residue?
Haha! Happy Birthday Isabel!

The birthday girl and me!
