Happy Birthday Mila

Today was a gorgeous day for a princess/superhero party for Mila.

At the last minute, Isabel had wanted to go as a superhero but since we don’t have a superhero outfit she went as a princess…

Just before heading out the door. She had to get just the right look.
Bracelets. Ring. Crown. Shoes. Go to go!

The princess’ running in the backyard. So cute to see the dresses flying as they ran back and forth. No 2 princess’ wore the same dress either.

Piñata time!

Kelly (Mila’s mom) had purchased a pull tab piñata. Just pull the strings and the candy falls. A smart and safe idea for all those princess’.

Time to open gifts.

Isabel’s gift to Mila. A princess coloring desk and…

… a  lenticular princess puzzle.

Mila and Isabel.
By the end of the party most of the girls had their dresses off because they were getting to warm!

Happy Birthday Mila!

School News: Field Trip Part 2

Our tour continued outside of the barn with the kids getting to feed the goats out of their hands.

Olivia, Isabel and Ezzra feeding a smaller goat. The larger goats were in the pen behind them.

After our tour of the barn, we headed back down by the ponds to see if we could spot some wildlife. Some of the kids got to see a big frog before it jumped into the pond. We had hoped to see the bald eagles nesting in the trees just behind the ponds but they didn’t come out today.

Pretty photo of the smaller pond looking westward.

Looking back toward the barns and larger pond and island where the kids got to fish.

We eventually made it into the musical forest to make some NOISE!

Each of the kids were given a drumstick and were told to just go have fun. This was Isabel’s favorite part of the day!

The forest was made up of recycled pots, pans, lids, plastic pipes, bells, strainers, cookie tins, and anything else that sounded cool when you give it a whack!

Rebecca and Isabel banging on some lids.
(The kids were moving so fast it was hard to get any good shots.)

After our musical jam was over, we were told we could explore the farm on our own. There was the Eye Spy trail (warned it was very muddy!), farm animals (to see again), play area, and adventure boat.

On the way back up to the play area, Isabel and Gino took a walk (or a skip) along some old tree stumps.

Isabel and Rebecca riding a pig and clowning around on the farm.

Mrs. W and Mrs. Standfield climbed aboard to get a great class shot!

Ducky derby time with Payton, Isabel, Lilliana and Rebecca.

Giving that water pump a good pumping to get those Duckies down the slide.

Isabel with her cleaned up fish.
I think all the kids had a great time at U-Fish, I know I did!

That night Isabel had her fish grilled with corn on the cob. She said it was yummy!

School News: Field Trip Part 1

Today 10 classmates and Isabel’s teachers from school went on a field trip to U Fish. Enjoy!

Mrs. W leading the class in opening prayer before heading into fish and have fun with our classmates.

U-Fish has 2 large ponds; the larger of the 2 has a small island and we headed over the bridge to fish. Each classmate was given a bucket (to put their fish in) and a pole. Within moments of dropping their lines in the water, most of the kids had a fish on the line. With help from the owner and his wife, all the kids got their fish in the buckets with their names on a card.

After all the kids had caught one fish, we headed back over to the main land from the island and handed off our catch of the day to be cleaned and kept in the fridge until we left for home.

Isabel and her fish she caught.

This was the best part of the whole day for me. I enjoyed seeing the reactions of all the kids as their fishes flopped around in the buckets. Wish I could have gotten it all on camera. Priceless indeed!

While we waited for other’s to hand in their fish to be cleaned we stood by the African Guinea Hen pen.
(you can just make out one of the white birds on the left)

Our tour of the farm animals began with all all the different birds on the farm. We saw the Guinea hens, chickens, doves, emus, turkeys, peacocks, and pheasants.

At this pen we are learning all about the make turkey and why his whole head turns blue!

After our tour of all the birds, goats and pigs, our tour continued in the barn were we saw more goats, ponies, alpacas, bunnies, a camel, donkeys, guineas pigs, and llamas

Heading into the barn and the kids are interested in the guinea pigs located in the center of the room.

This pony was so friendly and curious, I was standing by it for awhile, while we listened to the owner talk about her animals. This pony kept trying to get me to pet it and was curious about the camera too. I think it was looking for treats that I didn’t have.

The owner told us the difference between llamas and alpacas but I can’t remember… so this either a llama or alpaca!

Each one of the kids were given a carrot to feed the different animals in the barn. They were told if they wanted to feed more then 1 animal, they had to hold onto the carrot. Isabel feed the bunnies first then we broke up the carrot to give to Stanley.

Stanley is the sweetest camel I’ve ever been around. Isabel was terrified of him and didn’t want to even touch him. However Gino got a bit closer…

Stanley gave Gino a kiss! So sweet… he gives kisses for carrots.

School News: First Day Of June

Today was Chapel. She can’t remember the Bible story but they sung songs that they sing at church like the B-I-B-L-E and God Made Me. On the way home she sang the God Made Me song, which I have heard sung at church too!

Played with Rebecca throughout class today. Isabel kept saying that she had made a new friend at school, which I thought was funny because Rebecca’s been in her class since day one! She even came to Isabel’s birthday party! Silly girl!

She got hurt (scrapped her knee) in the court yard along with Presley, who had to have an ice pack on her head.

Almost to the end of the year and she’s doing a fantastic job writing her name!

Doing such a great job even on her last name as well!

Painted a boat but didn’t get to bring it home because they didn’t finish them today. Isabel thinks that its’ going to be placed on the bulletin board for the month of June. I will have to take a photo of the boards next week, when we return to the classroom.

The special helper today was Nevan. For snack Nevan brought to share graham crackers and juice. For show and tell, well Isabel couldn’t remember but it was oval shaped, large and small, with a picture on it.

Mrs. W is looking forward to the field trip this Friday! She is hoping that the whole class attends. I know Isabel has been looking forward to this trip all month (May) long and can’t wait until Friday!

It was also announced that Dany had a new baby brother, Gabriel.

****  BTW Isabel choose the title for today’s blog! ****
